IN LOVING MEMORY OF
CHAIRUL IRAWAN, ADVISOR

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we bid Chairul, our dear friend and colleague, farewell.

Chairul had been my first advocate and mentor when I started the journey with Potato Impact Partners in late-2022. He had been so generous, kind and gracious with his time; sharing wisdom, insight, and encouraging and supporting me and our team throughout.  He came up to Stanford to help with one of our first student collaboration events, and I recall his speech resonating with the youth.  He reassured me when I expressed any self-doubt or uncertainty about myself or my work. In many ways, he was the perfect guide, and the steady presence and support I needed early on, which I continued to benefit from throughout our time together.

Chairul inspires the Stanford student community with his words.

I could see him as a loving partner when he talked about his adventures and travels with his wife and dog. And it was clear he was a great dad to his daughters, from how he would ask me for dim sum recommendations so he could take his daughter, to how he masterfully guided me in this journey.  We joked about how I owed him a dim sum lunch, and we’d planned to go when we next met up - in the US or Asia, and also catch up more frequently. â€‹

Our last chat was a good, long one, where he continued to be a supportive advocate for me, and providing me with wise counsel.  What a huge loss for us all, and I’m so grateful for Chairul, and have so much appreciation for him having been such a positive, supportive force in my life. He was a wonderful friend and mentor.

Chairul touched many lives for the better, and words cannot adequately express how much we will miss his kind and generous spirit. We are grateful that he graced all of us with his friendship, and he will be greatly missed.

Chairul smiles with colleagues at Potato Productions Headquarters.
